Bitcoin dominance today is 35% and it's getting lover year by year! 🤔
Does that mean that in, let's say, the year 2025 Bitcoin will lose the race to altcoins?

Though there are many altcoins that gain a lot of attention, Bitcoin will remain the #1 cryptocurrency no matter what.
There are many alts that are commercial projects: Cardano, IOTA, Ripple, Dash. But only one will truly remain independent and free forever - Bitcoin.

In a few years it may turn out, that many alt coins exchange rate will be separated from BitCoin. There are already projects with rock stable exchange rate without correlation with BitCoin. Good example is Nebula Network, decentralized storage cloud based on its own blockchain, or well known tether :)

I think bitcoin was the forerunner and will be the leader of crypto for some time but there will emerge new currency better faster etc that will domnate the future as is often with innovators

It's a very interesting question. I am not a expert of finance. But I believe the true value of a (crypto-currency) currency is baser on two things: 1) the amount of people using and trusting 2) the amount of currency in the market. So, if altcoins get more users and trust than Bitcoin in the future, and that coin has a certain and defined amount in the market. That altcoin may surpass bitcoin. DO you think my logic make sense?

No one can tell you that for sure.
Personally, I'm one of those who strongly support altcoins. Thus my recent fav - Cryptonex, is the coin I invest in much right now.
It is potential (Cryptonex is about to launch p2p platform and mobile app), CNX coin is increasing (7fold in 3 months), it offers additional profit (pos mining with 12% annually just for keeping desktop wallet online). I think that altcoins are very ambitious, but you never know.

As you can see, every alt coin is correlated with Bitcoin exchange rate and it's constant problem for investors due to huge rate turbulences. Solution may be projects with rock stable rate like Nebula Network. In my opinion it's a future of cryptocurrency market and the way to break into mainstream :)

Only the time will tell. If altcoins are widely accepted by crypto community and their market cap increases than bitcoin then they are likely to dominate BTC.

Bitcoin has been on the no.1 position so far, but that does not mean, it will never slide down. I agree that bitcoin's trend effects are applied to altcoins but the altcoins are constantly evolving, coming up with better blockchain and purpose.

It may happen that bitcoin will always have a special position as it is the first and most popular cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin will most likely remain the top cryptocurrency unless an Altcoin somehows finds a worldwide government support (this guarantees security and pricing on the coin).

the equipment comparison, ALT coin is cheaper then bitcoin as you benefit from using ASIC miners and not GPU miners.

Bitcoin also has alot more support compared to alt coins. An example would be how two financial institutions are trying to take Bitcoin to wall street in new york, Unless other big companies start taking on alt coins like bitcoin, you would not see alt coins outgrowing bitcoin anytime soon.
