Top 5 Altcoins for Profitable Long-Term Investment

If you want to protect and increase the profitability of your investments you should think about diversification. Here are my personal top 5 cryptocurrencies for long-term investments:

1. Bitcoin - no matter what happens, the "digital gold" will remain wanted.
2. Cardano - new smart contract platform made by Ethereum co-founder. Might become big in future.
3. Ethereum - open-source, blockchain-based distributed platform with a built-in computing functionality. Smart contracts are so much innovative.
4. IOTA - blockchain-less technology for the IoT industry.
5. Monero - unlike Bitcoin, transactions in the Monero network are anonymous.

The more altcoins you have in your portfolio, the more flexible it is. However, you need to be able to control the holding. If you are a beginner, it may be difficult to follow more than 3-5 projects.

Any thoughts about NEO, Mister Isora?

I usually try to stay out of coins that I don't believe have any sort of future at all, or I don't feel like the tech is anything worth while. The only time I'm in BTC is when it's mooning for pretty much no reason besides mainstream people hopping in, or when I'm using it to hop into another altcoin. Also Ripple is incredibly centralized and is being used for banks, something cryptocurrency was designed to avoid.

The technology surrounding raiblocks, stellar lumens, and icon are all very interesting and I think anyone should look into them if they're trying to make a smart, but slightly more risky investment.

Hi, Mister BEEnull.
Thanks for your advice. I've heard a bit about Stellar Lumens. AFAIk, it is a platform that allows sending any currency through it. E.g., I can send USD to my friend using Stellar. If you recommend it for investing, I will learn about it deeper.

Any thoughts about NEO, Mister Isora?

Here is a cool article about the NEO purpose: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=68
I think it is a number one altcoin for a long-term investment.

TLDR: NEO has a more efficient and faster way of executing smart contracts than Ethereum.

Is NEO's tech good enough to overtake Ethereum's first mover advantage?

Ethereum ecosystem is highly dependant on Vitalik Buterin. People trust him, and therefore follow Ethereum. This one-person trust basis is not reliable.
NEO, on the other side, is a huge organization which will not fail in case of their CEO disease. Besides, NEO is a Chinese company that has a support of the Alibaba corporation.

It's all about politics, fame, trust and human relations, not technology. That is why I think NEO has big chances to overtake Ethereum in future.

Dogecoin is not to undervalutate. It's spiking every now and then, but better gather the most of it. it will go along with bitcoin and help supporting the rest.

I thought dogecoin was exactly that, a meme? Is there legitimate devs and what not?

It can be considered a meme, but if you check the coinmarketcap here, you will notice, it's widely used even for some serious projects and fundraisings.
